This wax is my homemade blend of oils and waxes. The ingredients of this wax are all food-safe, making this wax the perfect restoration/touch-up wax for all kinds of projects.

I use this wax on all of my tools! It works well on wood, leather, steel, antler, bone, permabond, plastic, rubber, and is even good for your skin!

Wood: Enhances the natural colors and grain of the wood, while also acting as a waterproofing agent (preventing mold and/or rot). Rubbing it into the wood also gives the wood a smooth finish and a nice grip, preventing your tools from sliding around in your hand. This wax is also good at hiding scratch marks, making it a good furniture touch-up kit.

Leather: As you can see in the Estwing hatchet photo (the handle is made of leather washers, which are quite old and cracked), the wax rubbed easily and evenly into the leather, giving it a hydrated appearance. The small cracks in the leather are no longer visible thanks to DeForest Resto-Wax. As mentioned previously, the wax also prevents water from entering the leather. It would make a good waterproofing agent on leather boots as well, in place of mink oil or another oil.

Antler/Bone: As stated previously, this wax enhances the natural color of whatever it is applied to. Not only that, but it provides a smooth, yet grippy finish to any surface.

Permabond/Plastic/Rubber: This wax works great for bringing back the natural color of plastics and rubber. No matter the color, it is enhances after applying wax!
