Vintage Beatty Hog Splitter with Handmade Leather Stacked Sheath.
Blade is hand forged carbon steel, likely made back in the 1800s, and definitely made by Beatty (there were several branches of the Beatty family, not sure which branch this would have been but that dictates the year of manufacture). No markings are left to be seen, this blade has put in some work throughout its life for sure.
I de-rusted and polished, sharpened it to a fine edge, sanded, stained, and waxed the handle, and made a new stacked leather sheath for it.
This blade was built to last, and has now been reconditioned for use over the next 100 years.
